Help me out - what's going on?

So this guy that i have history with is acting weird. Like the other day i texted him bcs abt something my mom said (it was like a joke btwn him & my mom) & then the convo turned kind of serious & we started talking abt feelings btwn me & him & he was saying things like how close we were & that he still feels like we are & that he likes being close to me & that whatever was bothering me that he did he wanted to fix it (bcs i was mad at him for a while before this convo) & that he misses me so much & then asked me to hang out with him Sat. Well he never text me to hang out with him. & the 2 times we've texted in the last 4 days, I'VE texted him, he hasn't texted me. I just don't know what's up with him. He always claims he misses me so much & blah blah blah that now i'm just like Wth? Why's he being like this?
