How can i relieve pain from a bad tongue bite?

I was sledding with a few friends today and i smacked my chin on the ground and split my tongue open pretty bad. I cant eat and i can barely drink water but i was wondering if there was anyone that knew a good way to relieve the pain because im really hungry and i need to eat something but the pain is pretty intense if i try to eat.
